Which is better – long or short hair?

There has long been a debate about whether long hair is better than short hair, or vice versa. Of course, for men, this is less of an issue, as conventional wisdom tends to dictate that most men have short hair. However, with women, it is different, as convention suggests women should favor long hair, but the number of women with short hair is increasing with every passing year.

So, we thought we would pose the divisive question – which is better, long hair or short hair? Of course, this is going to be entirely subjective, and it will largely depend on personal tastes and preferences. But, there are certainly positives and negatives on both sides here, and we could offer up arguments each way for why long hair is better, and why short hair is better. Here goes nothing!

Long hair

It’s more feminine

Long, lustrous, curly hair is generally accepted as being the most feminine hairstyle you can get. There are a lot of things that you can do here, and you need to think about how you can preserve and enhance your femininity as much as possible. It’s clear that if you want to feel more feminine, there are not many ideas out there that work as well as long hair. Keep this in mind before you make a decision about whether to cut it.

You can do more with it

Another positive about long hair that gives it an edge over shorter styles is that you can do more with it. You could wear it in a bun, have it up in a ponytail, style it in some weird and wonderful way, or just let it fall in a natural way. But having such a diverse range of choice is really important and can really improve your style as a result. Make sure you base your outfits and your wardrobe aesthetic around the sort of hairstyle you choose to go with.

Short hair

It’s less maintenance

One of the best factors that make short hair so great is the fact that it is ultra low-maintenance. This is something that really helps a lot when it comes to relieving a lot of the stress in your life, and is going to help you focus on boosting the way you look and feel as much as possible. Yes, short hair might need a bit of getting used to, but it is definitely going to require less work and maintenance than longer hair.

You can be more unique

Hairstyles are about feeling proud and confident about who you are, as well as trying to stand out and be unique. Because short hair is less common among women than long hair, you may well find that short hair helps you to stand out more. And there are still a fair few styles and designs you can enjoy with your short hair as well. Feeling unique and confident is so important, and this is something that can really have a wonderful impact on the rest of your life.

As you can see, there are some great arguments either way, and this is something to keep in mind when you are looking to improve your own style and look. Make sure you consider the positives and negatives of this when you make the decision about what to go with when it comes to your own hair.
