Trying to keep your bobby pins organized can be a serious challenge. If you’re tired of scrambling around your home to find one, you can use a tic-tac container or something of similar size and store your bobby pins in that.
If you use this option, it takes up less room and looks less bulky, which can be a plus. Another benefit? It’s convenient, and you can carry it wherever you go, making touch-ups a breeze.
Use wine corks for cute home decor
Wine corks can be an entertaining and easy way to add to your home decor. If you like picture frames, you can cut the corks in half and line them around the frame before hot gluing them on.
Or you can use a piece of wood and cut the frame out, but that process is a bit more complicated. Another option is that you can take a piece of wood and make a pretty bulletin board instead. Whichever option you choose, you get a unique decoration.
Find your peak time to exercise
Between five at night and six at night, your physical performance will be at its peak. In addition to this, the risk of injuring yourself is said to be at the lowest.
Your hand-eye coordination and your muscle strength and lungs will also be at their best, which means that you will get in a fantastic workout. Hangers will find your scarves a great home
Scarves are the perfect accessory. You can tie them hundreds of different ways, and they come in just as many colors. The tricky thing is finding room for them all and not ruining them.
Get yourself a hanger from your closet and tie the scarves on in a knot. Then gently push it to the end and add another. Depending on the thickness of the scarf, you can fit five or more on each hanger. Just make sure the knot isn’t too tight, or you won’t be able to get it back off.
Rubber bands are great at offering extra strength
If you have ever attempted to pull off a nail polish bottle top when it’s new, you know that it takes a lot of strength. To save yourself the trouble (and sore hands), wrap a rubber band around the nail polish’s neck and then try to get it off.
You will see that it is much easier and more efficient to do. In addition to this, you don’t get the torn skin from rubbing against the bottle so much.
A flat iron can give your hair life
For women who have straight hair, but long for the curly locks, this hack is for you. For a gentle curl that is soft and looks natural at the same time, twist your flat iron instead of going down with it.
We tend to use a flat iron to go in a straight motion downwards to achieve this look; however, if you are twisting it instead, you will get a beautiful curl instead of a straight lock.
Toothpaste Can Cure Damaged Nails
Our nails can yellow due to many different causes, and it’s a good idea to know how we can fix this. Toothpaste is what we are going to need to achieve this.
If you add a few drops of lemon juice in with it, you will notice a special effect. Lemon juice has an agent that is natural for bleaching. Because of that, it will take the yellow right out. Your nails will be beautiful and shiny as a result.
Use hooks to hang your purses
Shower curtain hooks are a great way to organize your purses, especially if you have many of them. You can find them anywhere and they are inexpensive making them a perfect choice to use.
They are sturdy and can hold the weight while ensuring that the straps don’t get tangled or damaged. They make an excellent option for finding purses quickly, as well. One of the best parts of this, however, is that it helps organize your closet while ensuring everything looks uniform and neat.
Add keys to your ring without hurting your fingers or damaging your nails
When we add keys to a ring, they never seem to want to open appropriately. That can result in damaged nails, pinched fingers, or even worse.
Instead of using your hands, open the ring with a staple remover. The remover will ensure that you are not hurting your fingers and getting them caught in the ring, as it is able to open it to its full capacity. It also prevents your key from getting stuck or damaged.
Don’t throw away old heels: save them with fabric
Old heels can lose their luster, but you don’t have to throw them away. If you are handy with glue, you can easily revamp them. Simply cut your fabric and glue it on to your shoes.

Keep your buttons from falling off
Because buttons are sewn with thread, there is a good chance that eventually you might see that thread unraveling due to wear and tear. If that happens, there is a good chance it will fall off.
To stop this from happening or prevent it from progressing, use clear nail polish over the thread that is ripping. The nail polish will keep it in place and make sure that the button stays put. Doing this will also let you use your wardrobe longer.
Remove stains from deodorant with a dryer sheet
Deodorant sticks are often white and leave stains that make you tuck your arms in as tight as you can get them. By using a dryer sheet, embarrassment is a thing of the past.
Rub the marks with a dryer sheet in a circular motion, and you will see the sheet begin to absorb the deodorant. You will need to ensure that the lint from the dryer sheet is gone, however. If it remains, you will see unwelcome clumps sticking to your clothing.
Baking soda can help smelly shoes
If you wear your shoes without socks and have sweaty feet, you can start to smell… and your shoes will start to, as well. If you put baking soda in your shoes, it kills the lingering bacteria and eliminates the odor.
Peppermint oil does the trick here, also. By adding just a couple of drops to shoes, you will notice a much better smell, which lasts for a long time. A tip to remember, however, is not to use too much peppermint oil. It can quickly get sticky.
Turn hangers to see what you don’t need
We often buy clothes we don’t wear (and think we will), and it takes up space we don’t have. Place your hangers the opposite way of how you usually have them, and when you use an item, hang it in the right direction.
Pick a time frame (a month, a year, whatever you like) and then donate, sell, or give away anything that is still facing the wrong way. It makes it easier to clean your closet, because you can see that you don’t ever use the garments.
Make your shoes waterproof
If you are a fan of making your shoes last longer, this hack will be your best friend. Beeswax works as a sealant and turns your shoe into a waterproof piece of clothing.
When you rub it on a surface (like canvas) and then heat it, the beeswax will be seeped into the fibers of the item and block water from getting in. It will also work on leather shoes, belts, and more. If you are going camping or live in a rainy area, this can be a lifesaver.
Save yourself from experiencing frizz
When you dry your hair with a towel, it can cause your hair to become frizzy. In addition to this, it can also cause you to break your hair and accidentally tear it out.
If you use a t-shirt instead, it is softer and causes less damage. Use a very soft shirt. A regular shirt may be too rough and cause damage like the towel. After repeated use with using a soft shirt, you should notice healthier hair.
Hairspray can save your pantyhose
If you are worried about getting runs in your pantyhose, you shouldn’t be. If you have a run, spray the hose with hair spray. Super hold works best here because of the additional firmness and power.
It will stop the hole and run from expanding right away because of the stickiness, and it won’t spread on your skin like nail polish does.This is a perfect trick to make sure that your hose isn’t getting ruined on a daily basis.
Keep your shoes clean when you pack for a trip
When you are going on a trip, one thing that pops into mind is how you should keep your shoes clean, but also how you should keep the other items clean.
A great trick here is to use a shower cap. Wrap it around the shoes, and it will keep your shoes safe from the clothes and vise versa. It also makes sure that your shoes stay together and don’t get lodged anywhere. The best part though? It’s a great space saver!
A banana can give you a smile that you dream of
Almost everything we eat or drink takes the whiteness out of our teeth, but there is a way to make it better. Banana peels can whiten your teeth easily. Simply rub the inside of the peel along each row of your teeth for sixty seconds.
Then sit for ten minutes. After you do this, get your toothbrush, but leave it dry. Brush your teeth, and then you are done. Doing this three times a week can lighten your teeth as much as a kit that can cost seventy dollars. Even better? No harsh chemicals.
Keep your suitcase from smelling foul
When you travel and have dirty clothes in the same suitcase, go grab a fresh bar of soap and store it with the dirty laundry. The clothes will still need laundering, but the case will smell clean and fresh because of the soap.
That ensures that your clean clothes don’t pick up the stench from the dirty ones, and you can go out without having to worry about odor. In many cases, it can help save your bag from unwanted stowaways, as well.
De-pilling your favorite sweater
Sweaters are great garments to toss on during the fall and winter when you’re feeling a bit chilly. With that being said, sweaters can go from cute to embarrassing over time as the fabric starts to build up and create pills. They make expensive items to deal with this, but there’s an easy way to remove pills without spending a lot of money. Just use an old razor!

One of the most annoying feelings you can have as you go about your day is your bra strap sliding around on your shoulders. This often happens with old bras that don’t fit particularly well, but it can really happen with any that you might have in your dresser. Here’s a simple way to stop this from happening.
Using a relatively easy-to-make design, you can create these clasps that will keep your straps in place. Find a design online, make them, and then sew them into your favorite shirt and voila, no more slippage!
Make any jeans skinny
You’re about to go out. You have your favorite boots and top in mind, but you realize that you don’t have any nice-looking jeans at the ready. You could do laundry, but you don’t really have the time. All you have are some baggy jeans that don’t match your outfit at all. What do you do?! All you need is a pair of high socks.
Simply tuck those big jeans into your socks and then put your boots on. Suddenly it looks like your baggy jeans are nice, new skinny jeans!
Make your own shaving cream
Okay, that title is a bit of an exaggeration, as this really isn’t a recipe for shaving cream per se. But this still works as an excellent substitute if you look in your cabinet and see that you’re all out of shaving cream. What you need is some baby oil and conditioner. That’s it! You probably have those two things sitting around anyway.
Simply rub on the oil followed by the conditioner and your hair will be softened to the point that a razor will just glide over. You can even eschew the oil altogether and just use conditioner.
Look in the men’s section
We’re gonna let you in on a little secret: a lot of women’s beauty items are scams. This is why there’s such a burgeoning DIY scene for make up and other beauty items. You don’t really want to make your own razor, though. But we still have a hack for you. Rather than looking for those expensive women’s razors, go buy a razor designed (or rather marketed) to men.
Women’s razors are often the same but less effective and pink or something. Using a razor designed for guys will be smoother and cheaper. They shave beards with those things.
Clean your jeans easily
Doing laundry is a pain no matter how you slice it. But when it comes to denim, there are some other worries aside from the quarter you need to spend at the laundromat. Washing jeans can result in the dye loosening and the denim losing its shape. One method that many women use to avoid this is just tossing their jeans in the freezer.
It sounds weird, but it really works. It won’t get out any stains, but it will kill bacteria on the fabric, making your jeans smell brand new again while keeping their color and shape.
The most simple earring holder in the world
Having lots of jewelry is great. It gives you a ton of options when you get ready for the day (sometimes too many options…), and it’s always nice to be able to accessorize in fun ways. Still, though, it’s super annoying to dig through your jewelry bowl or drawer or whatever else you use to find that one matching earring that is eluding you.
Instead, just go grab an old ice tray. The size and shape of the ice cube spaces in the tray are perfect for smaller pieces of jewelry. It’s a super easy way to stay organized.
A cheese grater for your jewelry
What, was the ice tray not fancy enough for you? Okay, time to head back down to the kitchen for an upgrade. It might not sound like a cheese grater would lend the best aesthetic to your bedroom, but it’s both functional and fashionable. Using an old cheese grater as a jewelry organizer not only gives your room a cool, DIY look, but it also just works super well. Just check out the picture.

Get your money’s worth
Let’s face it: makeup is expensive. You could argue that it’s an essential cost, but that doesn’t really change how much that Glossier bill is hurting your checking account. Don’t get mad at us for telling the truth. Anyway, if you’re gonna drop a fat stack on makeup, you may as well get your money’s worth.
Yes, we’re talking about that tiny bit of makeup that’s always at the bottom of the bottles. It’s super hard to get out normally, but try holding a hair dryer to it. This will melt it and make it come right out.
Hide your money like a spy
We all know just how nerve wracking it can be walking around alone. This is especially true if you’re in an unfamiliar place, and this is even more especially true if you’re carrying money. It makes you feel like a target! To gain a bit of peace of mind, try hiding your money. This will reduce your anxiety a good bit.
One method that we like is to empty out a chapstick container and slip a few bills in there. It’s both secretive and cool. It’ll make you feel like a spy.
Put your bracelet on by yourself
When it comes to getting ready, there are a few things that are made a lot easier by having someone else nearby. If you don’t have your bestie in the room to help you, though, you aren’t at a total loss. Putting on a bracelet with one hand is an infuriating task normally, but you can make it a breeze by just putting some tape on your wrist.
You might feel silly doing it, but it will hold the jewelry in place, allowing you to more easily clasp it shut. You can thank us later.
Don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee
If you’re anything like us, coffee is a pretty essential part to your day. We like to take our coffee in a variety of different ways, but we have a special place in our hearts for iced coffee. It’s not great when the ice melts and waters down our drink, though. But luckily for anyone else who has struggled with this, we have a solution!
Simply brew some coffee the night before and pour it into an ice tray (not the one you’re keeping your jewelry in). Once it melts, you’ll just get more coffee.
Eyelash curler bottle opener
Having a bottle opener in the house is as important as having, like, a steak knife or something. Okay, maybe we’re exaggerating a little bit, but it’s great to have one around for those occasions where you need one. If you’re missing one, though, there are lots of ways to get bottles open. They just require a little bit more finesse.
You can even open bottles with your keys. Our preferred method, however, is to use an eyelash curler. It gets it open quickly, and you will definitely impress your friends when you do it.
Another use for Vaseline
We can’t really overstate just how useful Vaseline is. You can use it as lip balm, moisturizer, a healing ointment, and even a cure for split ends. Pretty amazing! But we have recently discovered a new use for Vaseline. You can use it to accentuate your eyelashes. We can’t really explain why it works, but rubbing a small bit onto your lashes gives them volume and definition.
It’s not something that we do everyday, but it’s a cool little gimmick that actually works surprisingly well.
Ditch the belt
Having ill-fitting pants is annoying. Whether you just lost some weight, have some hand-me-downs, or just bought the wrong size, having pants that don’t fit your waist feels awful. Rather than ditching those imperfect jeans, though, we have an idea. You don’t even need a belt for this to work. Take the button at the top of the pants and pull it through the first belt loop on the pants.
It will stay fastened like this all day while being a good bit tighter than normal. It’s not ideal, but it definitely beats paying a tailor.
