An actress marrying an established politician in office is certainly a rare sight to see. Well, not for Jane Fonda, when she married activist and politician Tom Hayden back in 1973. Although it is to be noted that Ms. Fonda could definitely be considered an activist herself.
They certainly help break the stereotypical practice of celebrities marrying other people involved in the same profession as them — such as actors marrying other actors, and musicians marrying other musicians. Their unorthodox love affair lasted for a good 17 years.
